Quick Fixes

No Power / Blank Screen

Check your house switchboard and the outdoor isolator switch located near the unit.

Not Heating Enough

Ensure the unit is set to the correct operating mode and the target temperature is set correctly. Check that the air intake and exhaust are completely clear.

Cold Weather Performance

In freezing temperatures, the inverter system may run an automated defrost cycle to clear ice from the coils. This is completely normal and ensures it keeps running efficiently.

Tim’s Efficiency Tips

The 60°C Sweet Spot

By law in NZ, stored hot water must be kept at a minimum of 60°C to prevent legionella bacteria. Keeping it right at 60°C balances safety with maximum heat pump efficiency.

Solar and Off-Peak Optimisation

Got solar panels or a cheap daytime power tariff? Use your smart timer to shift the heating cycle to midday. It’s the warmest time of the day, meaning the heat pump runs at peak efficiency using essentially "free" power!
